Looking for an upgraded, upscale condo? This is it! The owners of Mauna Loa
Shores 506 spared no expense when it came to choosing appliances, flooring, and
furnishings for this recently renovated condo with fabulous Balinese/Asian decor.
One of its most appealing features is the open floor plan. They removed the
old-fashioned kitchen and completely redesigned the space with beautiful cabinets
that give a much more spacious feeling with unobstructed views to the living room and
outdoor lanai. The kitchen has top-notch stainless steel appliances, a flat-burner
cooktop, refrigerator with icemaker, beautiful cherry cabinets, and track lighting.
The beautiful slate flooring in the kitchen and living room is cool,
refreshing, and very practical for Hawaii’s tropical climate. Wood laminate
flooring in both bedrooms adds elegance and the warmth of a home. The living room has
a tropical feel with a Balinese influence in the furnishings. The owners designed the
lanai as an extension of the living area by providing lots of places to sit outside.
The creative addition of a ceiling fan above the lanai adds additional breezes to
Hilo’s gentle tradewinds.
Enjoy the fantastic ocean view from the living area, lanai, and especially
the master bedroom, which has a small desk so you can do a little work while looking
out at Hilo Bay. Both bedrooms are equipped with queen Tempur-Pedic® mattresses.
The guest bedroom has a view of Pu‘u ‘O‘o, the vent of the Kilauea
volcano. The updated hallway bathroom, situated between the two bedrooms, is equipped
with a combination bathtub/shower with glass doors.
Swimming and snorkeling are just steps away. You have a choice of the on-site
swimming pool or take a short walk to Carlsmith Park next door for a dip in the
ocean. The lagoons create calm swimming areas and provide protection from the surf.
The 4-mile stretch of different swimming coves in this area (called Keaukaha) is a
wonderful location to introduce your children to the ocean. If you must work after a
day of fun, you’ll appreciate the convenience of high-speed Internet from the
privacy of your condo.
